Bee Creative

To bee or not to bee, ok I had to do it. Come on. It’s begging to be written.

Bee Creative. Catchy but also a reminder.

I don’t know about you, but my creative juices have dried up during this pandemic. Like Sahara Desert dried up. Many people have had time on their hands and have been doing everything from organizing their craft rooms to catching up on junior’s birthday layouts. Not moi. So, what have I been doing? Well, stuff. I did participate on some Zoom crops. That was fun. I made some shirts for us to wear at Disney World. Oh, I made name cards for Christmas gifts. Mostly I have been cleaning, moving stuff, getting rid of things, renovating, working, watching crafting videos, and wishing I had the time, talent and gumption.

Let’s face it. I need to craft. Period.

So, how have you been doing since our last event in March 2020? Are you feeling like I have? Are your creative juices down to their last drop? Well, here’s a solution – Scrap Dat!

Come one, come all (I’m full of cliche’s today) to Scrap Dat’s Bee Creative. You will have 48 hours of crafting time to scrapbook, paper craft, work with mixed media, paint, stamp, ink, cut, glue, unglue, glue again, sew, write, embellish, twist, shape, stick, poke, and so much more. You can get your scrapbooking going, dabble into painting, make a wreath, work with mixed media, paper mâché …oh the possibilities are endless.

Sounds good? Well, come on and register for the event, May 20-22, 202, 8 am – 12 midnight daily. We are in the Castine Center in Pelican Park in Mandeville, LA. You’ll get 10 square feet of table space and space beyond your needs to spread out, due to social distancing. Register for 1, 2 or 3 days. Order meals that will be delivered. Get a Friday afternoon yum-yum. Take a class, Shop with vendors. Each person gets a t-shirt (unless you register past 5/13/21; we may not have your size as we order a few extras of L and XL), goodies, snacks and chances for door prizes.

But, do you know what is priceless? It’s the fun and satisfaction you will have. You get to be with like minded adults that make you smile or even belly laugh. You’ll finish the project from down yonder that has been looming over your head. You’ll create something fresh to hang in your house. You’ll learn new techniques. Your creativity will be sparked, massaged and flowing. (Speaking of massages, a massage therapist will be available at the event.)

So, register now. Take the next step to making sure your creativity gets rejuvenated. Come to Scrap Dat. We’ll be waiting for you.

Registration makes a great Mother’s Day gift, too.

Please note, we will be following social distancing guidelines and ask everyone to wear a mask when walking around, in vendor booths, getting snacks, going to the restroom, etc. When getting snacks or beverages, we ask you use the napkins and gloves available. Hand sanitizer will be provided as well.

Be Creative During Quarantine

Crafting is How I Roll

Every Day’s a Holiday!

It’s Carnival Time!

Scrap Dat
It’s Carnival Time

Our next event is February 16-18, 2017, right smack dab in the Carnival season. So, it was a no brainer when coming up with the new theme for this crop – Mardi Gras. It’s Carnival Time at Scrap Dat.

We are planning on passing a good time, yeah at Scrap Dat. Our roots are in New Orleans and we know how to celebrate Mardi Gras, well the family friendly version at least. We’ll be giving out goodies that relate to Mardi Gras. The crop will be decorated with Mardi Gras colors and items. The page layout contest will have something to do with Mardi Gras. Even our food will be local cuisine at some meals.

Don’t miss out on this fun filled event for all crafters. We are looking forward to planning a great time for all. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Casting Call

I just looked at the calendar. Today is September 1, 2015. When did that happen? The kids have been in school almost a month. We are already packing for a Labor Day weekend. And Scrap Dat’s LIGHTS, CAMERA, SCRAPBOOKING is 16 days away.

We are planning away for a fun crop. The layout for the crop needs to be done this week. Soon we will need to place a t-shirt order. Goodies need to be purchased and assembled. Why am I telling you all of this? Well, we need you to register if you have not already. Some of the registrations we have received have names of other possible croppers for seating requests but those people have not yet registered.

If you know of someone who is planning on going to the crop, please let them know they need to register.  Or maybe you are on the fence about attending (oh come on, you know you want to go) and have not registered yet. Please register soon so we can get our counts in.

Stay tuned for information about the crop. Rumors are a buzz about dress up night, contest and awards given out throughout the crop. If you have any questions, send us an email – scrapdatproductions@gmail.com.

See you at the corner of Hollywood and Vine!
