Our next event is February 16-18, 2017, right smack dab in the Carnival season. So, it was a no brainer when coming up with the new theme for this crop – Mardi Gras. It’s Carnival Time at Scrap Dat.
We are planning on passing a good time, yeah at Scrap Dat. Our roots are in New Orleans and we know how to celebrate Mardi Gras, well the family friendly version at least. We’ll be giving out goodies that relate to Mardi Gras. The crop will be decorated with Mardi Gras colors and items. The page layout contest will have something to do with Mardi Gras. Even our food will be local cuisine at some meals.
Don’t miss out on this fun filled event for all crafters. We are looking forward to planning a great time for all. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
We posted workshops today!
Check out the workshops we have to offer at Crafty Chic. Not all are posted yet but you can look at what is available so far. Some dates and times still need to be determined.
This year we have a massage therapist, Jill Landry. She will post her available times soon.
We hope you had a great Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day. Looking forward to seeing you all.
Are you getting ready to attend Crafty Chic? Here’s some things to keep in mind:
2. Group Seating
Many of you come with friends and family and you want to sit together. To make sure we know who you would like to sit with, we ask you tel us on your registration form or you can send in a Group Seating Form. You can download it here, fill it out and send it in.
3. Hotel Reservation
If you are coming from out of town, you need a place to stay. Check out the list of hotels we have on our website, on the Dat FAQ page. If you are able to speak with the local property, you may be able to get a decent rate if you mention Scrap Dat. We can’t guarantee the rate because they want room counts but you can try.
Don’t forget to get your photos but if for some reason you need prints while at Scrap Dat, we have Walgreen’s near the Castine Center. There are other photo processing such as CVS, Walmart and Sam’s.
You can bring in some food and snacks to the event. If you want concession food, the Castine Center will have hot dogs, popcorn, soda and water, as well as some other snacks available for purchase. There are many restaurants available in the area with great food. Triple Nickel for burgers, sandwiches and salads is the closest, Mi Mamacita’s for Mexican food, BOPS for frozen custard and great hamburgers, McClain’s for pizza as well many other sit down and fast food restaurants.
Bring a jacket, a light, an extension cord and earphones.
7. More to Come
Check back for workshops and any last minute info.
We are busy planning and working to make Crafty Chic a fun event. Tell your friends!
We know you have a lot on your mind – holiday clean-up, getting back to work/school, keeping those resolutions, packing for Scrap Dat, etc.
If you are thinking about attending and want to be eligible for a cash drawing at the crop, you will need to register by
1/10/16. That’s just 4 days from now.
Go to the Registration tab and you can register online or you can download the 2.16 Scrap Dat Registration form. If mailing the form, it must be postmarked by 1/10/16. All online registrations must be down by 11:59 pm on 1/10/16.
I just looked at the calendar. Today is September 1, 2015. When did that happen? The kids have been in school almost a month. We are already packing for a Labor Day weekend. And Scrap Dat’s LIGHTS, CAMERA, SCRAPBOOKING is 16 days away.
We are planning away for a fun crop. The layout for the crop needs to be done this week. Soon we will need to place a t-shirt order. Goodies need to be purchased and assembled. Why am I telling you all of this? Well, we need you to register if you have not already. Some of the registrations we have received have names of other possible croppers for seating requests but those people have not yet registered.
If you know of someone who is planning on going to the crop, please let them know they need to register. Or maybe you are on the fence about attending (oh come on, you know you want to go) and have not registered yet. Please register soon so we can get our counts in.
Stay tuned for information about the crop. Rumors are a buzz about dress up night, contest and awards given out throughout the crop. If you have any questions, send us an email – firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you at the corner of Hollywood and Vine!
If you have not done so already, go to our website and register. We have 3, 2 and 1 day crop registrations now available. Make sure you have a Group Seating Form filled out for all your cropping peeps. Have one lead person fill it out after all have registered.

Looking forward to seeing you!
Well I came across a scrapbooker, she was packing up her supplies
And I asked her where are you going, this she told me:
Well, I’m going down to Mandeville, going to Scrap Dat’s crop,
Got to get back to scrapbooking and set my soul free.
We are croppers, we are creative, we go until we drop
And we’ve got to get ourselves back to Scrap Dat’s Woodcrop!
So, by now you may know that we our crop’s theme is Woodcrop – 3 days of fun & scrapbooking. It’s a late 60s early 70s theme. You know, peace, love, smiley faces, and flowers. Cool man, Keep on Truckin’, Have a Nice Day.
We will be planning our crop around this theme and you need to plan on getting some comfortable threads to crop in.
Stay tuned for more info on the crop and how you can register. There will be an early bird registration. Sign up for a full 3 day crop by August 4, 2014 and your name will go into a drawing for $200 cash. CASH, man!
Stay cool. (Literally and figuratively. It is hot out there!)
Mark your calendar for Scrap Dat’s fall crop, September 4-6, 2014.
We had such a great time with our inaugural crop in May that we just HAVE to have another crop. We know that there has been a fall crop in these parts for 10 years, so why stop now. We have signed with the Castine Center to hold our crop back at their facility. There we had plenty room but can still accommodate more croppers in the space or if need be, rent the next hall over.
Registration will be up soon so please check back or if you get our emails, wait until you get one about Early Registration.
In the mean time, make sure you are making memories and capturing them on your cameras. Hope you have a wonderful summer.
We are so excited. N0w we have to get cracking to plan the fall crop.
